CMC Petroleum Grade

Oil Drilling CMC, as a water-soluble colloid in drilling mud systems, has a high water loss control capability. Adding a small amount of CMC can keep the water level at a high level. In addition, it has good temperature resistance and excellent salt resistance. Under certain salt concentrations, it can still have good water loss reduction capability and maintain certain rheological properties. When dissolved in salt water or water, the viscosity hardly changes, making it particularly suitable for the requirements of offshore drilling and deep wells.

Petroleum Grade Carboxymethylcellulose Features

1. Excellent fluid loss control capability; fluid loss can be controlled at a high level with a relatively low dosage without affecting other mud properties.
2. Produces high-quality, firm, and tough mud cake.
3. Excellent control over mud rheology, exhibiting good non-Newtonian fluid properties. Furthermore, CMC, when used as a cementing fluid, can prevent fluid from entering pores and fractures; when used as a fracturing fluid, it can control fluid loss into the well.

 

Functions:

1. Thickener: CMC Oil Drilling Grade increases the viscosity of drilling fluid, enhancing its ability to carry cuttings and preventing cuttings deposition at the bottom of the well.
2. Filtration Reducer: Forms a dense filter cake on the wellbore, reducing drilling fluid loss to the formation and maintaining wellbore stability.
3. Salt Resistance: Low-substitution CMC can be used in high-salinity drilling fluids to inhibit clay swelling.
