CMC for mineral processing

CMC (Carbonated Metal Methyl) is widely used in flotation. In the mining industry, CMC serves as a binder and depressant for pellets. CMC for Mining Industry is a raw material for mineral powder forming binders; binders are an indispensable component in pellet production, improving the properties of wet, dry, and roasted pellets.

CMC exhibits excellent binding and pelletizing properties, producing green pellets with good anti-explosion performance, high compressive and drop strength in both dry and wet pellets, while simultaneously increasing the grade of the pellets.

CMC for Mining is also a modifier in flotation processes, primarily used as a silicate gangue depressant. In copper-lead separation, it is used to suppress lead production and sometimes as a slime dispersant.

In pellet applications, it provides good pelletizing properties, high compressive strength, and resistance to deformation; good dispersibility and high wet pellet strength; high anti-explosion temperature; strong ability to control and release water within the pellets; and good metallurgical properties.

In sulfide ore flotation, it can significantly enhance the wettability of talc particles, achieving flotation separation of sulfide ore and talc. It is used as a silicate gangue inhibitor, for lead suppression in copper-lead separation, and sometimes as a slurry dispersant.

*CMC (Mining Grade) has wide applications in the mineral processing industry, primarily including:

Copper Ore Flotation: Used in copper-sulfur separation processes, it selectively suppresses pyrite and gangue minerals, improving copper concentrate recovery.

Lead-Zinc Ore Flotation: By using mined CMC to adjust the rheology and surface adsorption behavior of the ore pulp, effective separation of lead and zinc minerals from gangue minerals is achieved.

Iron Ore Reverse Flotation: In magnetite reverse flotation, CMC acts as a dispersant to suppress quartz and feldspar, improving iron concentrate grade.

Non-metallic Mineral Purification: Applicable to the flotation of minerals such as graphite, kaolin, and talc, it improves ore pulp dispersibility and increases product whiteness and purity.

Applications of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose in other industries:

* In the food industry, it acts as a thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, suspender, water retainer, enhances toughness, expands, preserves freshness, provides acid resistance, and improves taste;
* In detergents, it is used as a surfactant and an anti-fouling redeposition agent;
* In crude oil extraction, it is used in drilling fluids, cementing fluids, and fracturing fluids, mainly as a thickener and filtration reducer;
* In the mineral processing industry, it mainly functions as a binder, flotation inhibitor, modifier, and dispersant;
* In the paper industry, it is used in the pulping process to improve retention and increase wet strength.
