Applications of PAC in Oil Drilling and Production

② Polyanionic cellulose powder has good suspension capacity, can accommodate a large amount of solid phase, greatly improves particle stability, is most suitable for preparing high-density drilling fluids, and can efficiently regulate drilling fluid rheology; it can form a dense, high-quality mud cake in drilling fluid, has excellent filtration loss reduction effect, and reduces free water.

 

③ Petroleum-grade PAC has good anti-calcium ability, can prevent excessive flocculation of clay particles in the system caused by calcium ions, maintains good flocculation in the drilling fluid, maintains stable solid content and rheology of the drilling fluid, and thus ensures good and stable performance of the drilling fluid.

 

④ Seawater drilling fluid and saturated brine drilling fluid exhibit low sensitivity to salt and strong resistance to salt, calcium, and magnesium. Used as a rheology modifier, it rapidly adjusts the rheology of drilling fluids at low dosages, while quickly carrying away drill cuttings and maintaining a low solids content. As a filtration loss reducer, it forms a dense mud cake. Because the filtrate filtered through the cake is similar to the formation's native water, it causes less damage to the oil and gas reservoir.

 

 

⑤ It has low sensitivity to potassium, calcium, and magnesium salts, and can rapidly and efficiently adjust the rheology of these drilling fluids. While possessing good filtration loss reduction effects, it also has excellent drill cuttings cleaning and drill bit washing capabilities, showing significant effectiveness in formations prone to stuck drill bits.

 

⑥ It has good compatibility with other polymers, strong suspension capabilities, and can promptly and efficiently clean drill cuttings, synergistically maintaining low solids and low clay dispersion in the drilling fluid. It is also an excellent filtration loss reducer.

 

⑦ It can quickly and efficiently adjust the rheological properties of drilling fluid, has excellent suspension capabilities, and can promptly and efficiently remove drill cuttings, maintaining a low solids content in the drilling fluid, improving drilling speed, stabilizing the wellbore, and exhibiting excellent filtration loss reduction.
