Erythritol is also frequently detected in the tissues and body fluids (lens, cerebrospinal fluid, serum, semen, and urine) of humans and animals.

Functional Characteristics

1. Extremely low calorific value, with energy content of only 0.2kcal/g~0.4kcal/g, just 10% of that of sucrose.

2. Unique metabolism, low GI. Organic erythritol has a glycemic index and insulin index of 0.2, so erythritol sweetener has almost no effect on blood sugar.

3. Excellent sweetness characteristics, very close to the sweetness of sucrose, with no unpleasant aftertaste.

4. Non-hygroscopic, it does not absorb moisture even at 90% humidity. After being stored at 20℃ and 90% humidity for 5 days, its weight increase is less than 2%.

5. High heat of solution, -96.86kJ/kg, three times that of glucose. Dissolving 10g of Food Sweetener Erythritol Powder in 90g of water lowers the temperature by approximately 4.5 degrees Celsius, resulting in a refreshing taste.

6. High tolerability: Sweetener erythritol has a tolerability 2-3 times higher than xylitol, lactitol, maltitol, and isomaltitol, and 3-4 times higher than sorbitol and mannitol. The maximum tolerable dose for a normal organism is 50g/day.
